EPS insulation

EPS Pipe Section

Expanded polystyrene (thermocol) preformed insulation

Expanded polystyrene is a tough, rigid, lightweight, closed cell insulation foam commonly known as EPS, with densities between 8 kg/m³ and 32 kg/m³. Its closed cell structure gives low water vapour permeance, and so it is widely used for thermal insulation in food containers, packaging, building insulation, chilled water piping, refrigeration and more.

Why specify EPS Pipe Section

6 reasons it earns its place on site.

  • Lightweight: easy to carry and install

  • Does not absorb water easily; even after prolonged saturation it keeps its shape, structure and size and retains 80% of its thermal value

  • Dimensionally stable and does not deteriorate with age

  • Low thermal conductivity

  • Fire retardant (available in self-extinguishing grade)

  • Can be made in any size and shape, so it suits many applications

What sizes and grades does EPS Pipe Section come in?

Thicknesses: 25, 40, 50, 65, 75, 100 mm; Dimensions: 1 m L x 0.5 m W; Pipe diameter: 15 mm to 300 mm (1 m and 2 m L); Density: 8 to 32 kg/m³. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us and we will check what the manufacturer can make.

Where is EPS Pipe Section used?

Typical uses: packaging industry; building and construction; brine / chilled water pipelines; refrigeration and cold storage insulation.

Can SGPL supply and install EPS Pipe Section?

Yes. We supply it on its own, or our own crews install it as part of our cold insulation and underdeck insulation work. That starts with a site visit and a written specification, and ends with a joint measurement at handover.

Is EPS Pipe Section in stock, and do you send a datasheet?

We hold EPS Pipe Section at our Vatva GIDC (Ahmedabad) and Morbi stockyards. You can download the datasheet on this page, and we can send the test certificate with the dispatch. Send your enquiry before 4 pm and you will usually hear back the same working day.
