Industrial grade bituminous material

Bitumen is a black, sticky and viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. It occurs naturally or as a refined product obtained during the distillation of crude petroleum oil without later blending. The material does not foam when heated to 175°C and contains no minerals other than those naturally present in it.

Precautions and limitations

Avoid contact with skin and eyes and avoid swallowing.
Keep the area well ventilated and avoid breathing the vapour.
Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye protection.
On skin contact, rinse with plenty of clean water, then clean with soap and water. Do not use solvent on the contacted area.
On eye contact, wash with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.

What sizes and grades does Bitumen come in?

Packing: 200 kg drum and 25 kg cake. If you need a size that is not listed, ask us and we will check what the manufacturer can make.

Where is Bitumen used?

Typical uses: building and roofing; industrial use.

Do your crews use Bitumen on site?

Yes. We supply it on its own, and our own crews use it on our cold insulation and overdeck insulation jobs. Those start with a site visit and a written specification, and end with a joint measurement at handover.

Is Bitumen in stock, and do you send a datasheet?

We hold Bitumen at our Vatva GIDC (Ahmedabad) and Morbi stockyards. You can download the datasheet on this page, and we can send the test certificate with the dispatch. Send your enquiry before 4 pm and you will usually hear back the same working day.
